Kidulthood

In this poster, straight away you think of everyone in it as "wanna be gangsters".  Its a bunch of teens who would go round causing grief, vandalising, disruptive behaviour and bullying. But why do we think this just by looking at a poster. Well to start, it goes by the way they dress. All the boys are wearing dark clothing with most of them having hoods up. With this society when you see a teen wearing dark clothing and a hood up you automatically assume them as trouble, which is what you see in this picture. Also the location they are at, they are not in a public place full of people, no they look as if they are in a dark abandoned place where not many people go. But the most obvious is the boy at the back holding a bat. Now if you want a poster to show teens in a bad way and to make them look like they are trouble, then holding a bat is a good way of showing it. just by looking at this poster, the clothing, the body language and the bat it shows that its a film about a group of teens that are up to no good which is what the director would want.
